Aperitif Bar, also known as the lobby bar, is the calmest of the three Le Scandale spaces and the only one open daily. You will find it at ul. Zaruskiego 5, in the centre of Zakopane, 300 metres from Krupówki, with a separate entrance from the street. You can walk in freely, with no cover charge, no door selection and no age limit, all week from 9:00 to 23:00.

The interior is kept in the highlander style, but without folk-museum literalness. Natural stone, wood and leather are set against a contemporary detail, comfortable armchairs and atmospheric lighting. The heart of the room is the fireplace, with the most sought-after seats arranged around it. It is an interior you will not find in a typical cafe on the promenade, and one of the reasons why both locals and guests from all over Poland keep coming back.

During the day Aperitif Bar works as a cafe and a meeting place. We serve coffee, teas and cold drinks, and the kitchen is open daily from 13:00 to 21:45. On the menu you will find starters and soups, including bouillon with pulled chicken, cream of tomato soup, beef tartare and prawns in white wine, as well as salads and charcuterie and cheese boards. Main courses include garganelli pasta with chicken, salmon with mashed potatoes, classic and vegetarian burgers with oscypek cheese, and beef tenderloin. We also run a separate children's menu and desserts, including apple pie with custard and cheesecake with raspberries.

The calm atmosphere means the place works well for business meetings. You can talk here without shouting over the music, and a conversation at a table or in an armchair by the fireplace has a completely different weight than one in a conference room. Many people arrange a lunch here in the middle of the day or a coffee between meetings, taking advantage of the fact that the centre and Krupówki are just a few steps away.

In the evening the bar changes character. Aperitifs, sparkling wines, prosecco and light cocktails appear, and at the bar you can order any of the thirteen cocktails from the lobby bar menu as well as alcohol-free options, prepared with the same care as the alcoholic versions. It is a natural start to a night in Zakopane, even before Cocktail Room and Music Loft open, which you reach without stepping out into the cold.

It happens that a guest drops in for one coffee and stays for three hours. In the morning we are visited by people who want to start the day calmly before heading into the mountains, in the afternoon by those coming back from a trail or from Krupówki, and in the evening by those looking for a place to talk without crowds and noise. This mix means the atmosphere changes several times during the day, even though the interior stays the same.

In winter, at the peak of the season, the fireplace and the comfortable armchairs become the most sought-after spot in the whole venue, which is why it is worth booking a table in advance. In summer the bar works at a calmer pace and a seat is easier to get without calling ahead. Whatever the season, the kitchen is open daily from 13:00 to 21:45, and the bar until 23:00.

Aperitif Bar is often the first stop of the evening for people heading to the club later. You can have a calm dinner here, drink a glass of wine and move on without stepping out into the cold when Cocktail Room opens at 21:30. For guests who are not planning a night out, the bar stays open on its own terms until 23:00, also on weekdays, when the rest of the club is closed.
